Southern Ute Indian Tribe

Problem

The COVID-19 pandemic posed a complex intersection of challenges for the Tribe as a vulnerable population in terms of public health and access to resources.

Solution

Connected to data sources across public health organizations, case incidence surveillance systems, and government agencies.

Built a comprehensive data pipeline and visualization tool to visualize trends in case incidence rates and real-time threats to the community.

Outcome

Provided a reliable and accessible platform of information to help inform urgent incident management as the pandemic evolved.

Equipped Tribal Council members with layers of knowledge to make informed decisions on how to best mobilize their resources and regulatory directives in service of the broader community.

Supported 9 counties and indigenous communities in the surrounding area in their ongoing incident management response
